What We Do

Estidama has established a specialised government body at the Urban Planning Council, with a specific mandate of developing the guidelines, carrying out market studies and technical research, training assessors, and issuing formal certifications that assures the proper development and implementationof more sustainable development in Abu Dhabi. The process also includes consultation and open feedback with different stakeholders such as government agencies, utility providers, developers and planning consultants

The Estidama Sustainable Buildings and Communities Program consists of three key elements that are being carried out simultaneously: New Building Guidelines, Existing Building Guidelines and Community Design Guidelines; along with the development of the “Estidama Pearls” rating system, which will certify and grade sustainable buildings and communities.

The Pearls Design System for Estidama initially consists of three key elements that are being developed simultaneously: New Building, Existing Building and Communities. The system will create a Design Guide and a Pearls rating system, which will certify and grade sustainable buildings and communities.
